Police search for location of homecoming photos after Colorado teenager is shot in the face during photo shoot.
Brent Metz is accused of first-degree assault, felony menacing, illegal discharge of a firearm, and reckless endangerment.
A 17-year-old boy was reportedly shot in the face by a member of the Mountain View, Colorado town council while searching for a location to take homecoming photos, authorities claimed.
Brent Metz, a 38-year-old man, was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, two counts of felony menacing, illegal discharge of a firearm, and two counts of reckless endangerment, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to the 23000 block of Pleasant Park Road following a report from the homeowner that two intruders were on her property. The homeowner also informed her boyfriend about the trespassers on her property.
Upon the arrival of deputies, they discovered two vehicles on Pleasant Park Road. One of the deputies then found a teenage boy with severe facial injuries.
Another boy applied pressure to his friend's wounds with a shirt, while the teenager watched.
Nearby stood Metz, the man accused by the victim of shooting him in the face through the windshield of his car.
The deputy was informed by the victim that he and his companion visited the property to inquire about utilizing it for homecoming photo shoots.
The boys jumped the fence and walked up the driveway to speak with the homeowner. However, when nobody was at home, the victim informed the deputy that he and his friend searched the property to find the homeowner.
The boys returned to their vehicles, as nobody was around, and the victims said they were writing a note to the homeowner to ask permission to use their property to take pictures.
A man who the boys had never seen before pulled up next to them while they were writing a note, got out of his truck and fired a round through the windshield, striking the driver in the face.
The gun believed to have been used in the shooting was found in Metz's truck, according to the sheriff's office.
Metz was transported to headquarters where he was processed and booked into jail.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Office has been contacted by Planet Chronicle Digital for more details.
