Police officer shoots wrong-way driver who struck multiple vehicles, yells "He's got a gun!"
As of Sunday, Sean Wallace Jordan is still being held at the Tarrant County Jail.
In Southlake, Texas on Friday morning, a man was apprehended for driving the wrong way, hitting cars, and shooting at several individuals, including a police officer.
On Friday morning at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Southlake Police Department received a call from the 600 block of West Southlake Boulevard regarding a driver going the wrong way.
In the 1400 block of East Southlake Boulevard, a driver traveling eastbound collided with multiple vehicles before crashing, according to a police press release.
The suspect retrieved a rifle from his vehicle and began firing in the direction of the officer and another driver as an officer approached the crash scene.
The wrong-way driver and the officer engaged in a gunfight, but no one was harmed.
The suspect was taken into custody by the officer and other officers on the scene, and he is still in custody as of Sunday.
A man can be heard shouting "He's got a gun!" in surveillance footage from a nearby business that shows people running from the scene of gunfire.
19-year-old Sean Wallace Jordan of Colleyville, Texas, was identified as the wrong-way driver in a press release from Southlake Police. He is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault against a public servant, and resisting arrest, search or transport.
According to online records, Jordan is currently incarcerated at the Tarrant County Jail with a bond amount of $271,500. It is unclear if he has hired an attorney to represent him.
Southlake, Texas is located in the Forth Worth-Dallas area.
