Passengers on Delta flight evacuate using emergency slides during aborted takeoff.
Delta reported an engine problem.
On Friday morning, an aircraft aborted takeoff at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), resulting in passengers using emergency slides to deboard. According to the airport's statement, four passengers sustained minor injuries.
Delta confirmed via email to Planet Chronicle Digital that the incident involved a Boeing 757-300 with 201 customers, two pilots, and five flight attendants on board.
Delta's flight crew followed established procedures to halt the departure of flight 2668 from Atlanta (ATL) to Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) due to an engine problem, as the company stated in an email.
"Our top priority is the safety of our people and customers, and we deeply regret any inconvenience our customers may have experienced. We are committed to assisting our customers and ensuring their safe and timely arrival at their destinations."
The airport stated that its operations were delayed due to the severe weather episode.
The runway and aircraft are expected to be cleared shortly, according to the airport's statement.
