Over two decades, luxury real estate brothers enticed numerous women with the promise of a lavish lifestyle, according to federal authorities.
In Miami and New York, three prominent brokers - Tal, Oren, and Alon Alexander - were arrested.
According to a federal indictment obtained by Planet Chronicle Digital, two luxury real estate agents and their brother are accused of drugging and then sexually assaulting and raping dozens of women.
On Wednesday, December 11, in Miami Beach, three prominent jet-setting brokers, Tal, 38, Oren Alexander, 37, and their brother Alon Alexander, Oren's identical twin, were arrested.
The Alexander brothers are accused of working together with others to repeatedly and violently drug, sexually assault, and rape dozens of victims in New York, Miami, and other locations, according to the indictment.
At a Manhattan news conference, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Damian Williams stated that the alleged conduct was heinous.
According to the indictment, the Alexander brothers planned and organized sexual assaults on women, promising them luxurious experiences, travel, and accommodations before luring and enticing them to locations where they were then forcibly raped or assaulted, sometimes by multiple men, including themselves.
During the rapes and sexual assaults, the brothers physically restrained and held down their victims, ignoring their screams and explicit requests to stop, according to the indictment.
The three brothers were accused of conspiring in a sex trafficking scheme since at least 2010, but prosecutors claimed in a letter on Wednesday that their sexual violence against women went beyond that time frame, dating back to when the men were in high school in Miami.
Prosecutors in the letter requested that the court reject the brothers' bail while providing more information about their alleged offenses.
The Alexander brothers' serial sexual violence worsened as adults, according to prosecutors. After college, the three brothers relocated to New York City while still maintaining homes in Miami and dividing their time between the two cities.
In this case, the evidence shows that the defendants planned and paid for trips involving interstate and international transportation of women on multiple occasions, according to prosecutors.
In 2011, a victim, referred to as Victim-1 in the letter by prosecutors, was allegedly raped by Tal Alexander and another man at the Alexander brothers' vacation house in the Hamptons. Despite never having met Tal Alexander before, Victim-1 consumed half a glass of wine at the house and subsequently felt unwell in a manner inconsistent with drinking that amount, according to the letter.
Despite her memory becoming foggy, Victim-1 recalls specific details of the night. She remembers being held down by Tal as another man entered the room, and she also recalls being in a second location with Tal and the other man, where a camcorder was set up.
In 2016, another woman, Victim-2, reported being raped by Oren Alexander. She "began feeling strange and struggled to walk" after Oren handed her a cocktail. Alon Alexander then allegedly took the woman to a bedroom to lay down, and she later woke to find Oren in the room. Oren pulled down her bathing suit and raped her while she was "physically impaired and could not move," and "struggled to speak," the letter continued.
The Alexander brothers, who had just weeks earlier sexually trafficked and raped Victim-2, along with other individuals, planned to transport women to Tulum, Mexico. In a group WhatsApp chat titled "Lions in Tulum," the brothers and other men attending the trip discussed the importation of women, the cost of lodging and flights, and providing drugs to make them more likely to engage in sex.
The drug "G," believed by prosecutors to be "GHB," is classified as a "date rape" drug.
"Oren Alexander stated in a message that he was "just trying to make sure I get max returns" and that the price they were paying was "more than most of us ever spent on girls." He then asked, "Are all girls getting shipped out on Sunday?""
In 2022, Oren and Tal Alexander founded Official, a real estate firm that specializes in luxury listings in cities such as New York City, the Hamptons, Miami, and Los Angeles. They had previously worked their way up the ranks at Douglas Elliman, one of the largest real estate brokerages in the country, before starting their own company.
In 2019, Douglas Elliman secured a nearly $240 million brokered deal for a penthouse sale, which at the time was the most expensive residential sale in US history. Alon Alexander, 37, did not work in real estate but socialized with them.
The three brothers reside in expensive properties in Miami Beach and New York, with Tal Alexander renting an apartment in a Manhattan skyscraper, and Alon and Oren Alexander living in Miami Beach properties with direct water access and private docks, according to court documents.
Prosecutors claimed that Tal and Oren took measures to hide their wrongdoings and safeguard their standing in the real estate sector.
Prosecutors' filing states that the Government is aware of a situation where Tal and Oren filed a police report accusing a woman of harassment. The woman claimed that Tal had forcibly digitally penetrated her while Oren was present. Additionally, Tal threatened to sue the victim for defamation if she continued to disclose the sexual assault.
The three brothers were accused of conspiring to commit sex trafficking and sexually exploiting one woman through force, fraud or coercion. Additionally, Tal Alexander was charged with sexually exploiting a second victim.
Alon Alexander, represented by Isabelle Kirschner, will enter a not guilty plea and address the charges in a courtroom.
A judge granted release to attorneys Susan Necheles and Joel Denaro, who represent Oren and Alon Alexander in Florida.
"Oren and Alon Alexander were released from state jail by a Florida judge after two hearings. The judge found that conditions could be put in place to ensure the safety of the community and the men's attendance in court. The attorneys for the men stated on Friday that they were grateful and ready to begin fighting the case in court."
Deanna Paul, an attorney representing Tal Alexander's older brother, did not promptly respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's inquiry for comment.
Alexander brothers' sexual violence investigation is ongoing, and Williams urged anyone with claims to come forward, he said.
