Over 529,000 migrants entered the US legally under the Biden administration's controversial parole program, according to CBP.

According to ICE sources, they lack the personnel to pursue migrants when their 2-year grants expire.

Nearly 530,000 migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela were paroled into the U.S. as part of the Biden administration's mass parole program, according to statistics released by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on Monday.

The parole process for the CHNV program resumed processing new Advance Travel Authorizations (ATAs) in August, as per the Department of Homeland Security's decision.

The DHS implemented additional safeguards to the CHNV processes, including enhanced vetting of U.S.-based supporters and biographic and biometric screening.

CBP announced on Monday that all CHNV beneficiaries undergo screening and vetting by CBP before entering the US and must meet additional criteria to travel to the US after purchasing their own commercial airline tickets.

Nearly 530,000 migrants were paroled into the U.S., while about 813,000 migrants have scheduled appointments to be released at ports of entry.

The Biden administration created two "lawful pathways" into the U.S.

The Border Patrol does not count numbers of illegal crossings in its data.

On two-year humanitarian parole grants, migrants in the CHNV program are granted permission to work in the U.S.

According to Bill Melugin of Planet Chronicle, every ICE source he has spoken with confirms that they lack the workforce and resources to locate and remove such a significant number of individuals if they exceed their two-year visas.

ICE's non-detained docket is projected to reach 8 million cases by the end of 2024, with each ICE officer handling an average of 7,000 cases.

ICE is responsible for managing cases, tracking down and removing immigrants with final orders of removal, aggravated felons, gotaways, and others.

The DHS Inspector General's recent report revealed that ICE lacks the resources to monitor and remove the additional population granted under the Biden administration's programs, as no agency has been tracking parole expiration.

The CHNV program, which grants parole to foreign nationals for humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit on a case-by-case basis, has been criticized by conservatives for years. A group of Republican states filed a lawsuit against the program, but it was dismissed by a district judge in 2021.
