According to the Novi Police Department, two 14-year-old boys were shot in the parking lot of the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan, around 9:50 p.m.
One of the boys died from his injuries after being transported to a local hospital.
No suspect information has been released by the police as they continue their search.
According to WXYZ, although no one has been arrested for the shooting, the police believe the perpetrator knew the victims and the shooting was deliberate.
Multiple witnesses told the outlet that they heard gunshots and started running.
One witness stated, "We're all attempting to flee and hide."
Police said there is no threat to the community.
The incident remains under investigation.
