In Washington state, it was discovered that the vagrant had a charge similar to the one he was arrested for.
This week, a homeless man sexually assaulted a woman sunbathing in broad daylight in Santa Monica, California, drawing the attention of the city and police.
On Tuesday morning at the Santa Monica Pier, a 25-year-old homeless man climbed on top of a 20-year-old woman and held her down, police said.
Dickson was arrested on a felony charge of sexual battery with restraint after allegedly grinding on a woman. The woman's friends intervened before attention was brought to the incident.
Near Ocean Front Walk, a popular cycling and running trail near the beach, an attack occurred, as reported by Fox 11.
""He was grinding on her, and her friends noticed what was happening. She jumped up, causing him to back off. Within 15 minutes, he was in custody," said Santa Monica Police Department Lt. Erika Aklufi."
The latest incident of homeless men attacking women in the area, which has been plagued by open-air drug use and vagrants suffering mental illness on the streets, is an alleged Tuesday assault.
""Santa Monica Mayor Phil Brock stated that it is terrible for the community and he cannot stop thinking about the girl and her feelings," said Santa Monica Mayor Phil Brock."
"According to Brock, who spoke to local outlet Fox 11, we are safe and could take a walk down the Promenade at 11 o'clock at night without feeling unsafe."
Dickson was arrested in Washington state with a similar charge after being found guilty in California.
