On Christmas Day, a Texas mother of three was fatally shot by her husband in what appears to have been a murder-suicide, with their three children present in the home.

On December 25, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Houston Police were summoned to a residence on Grasilla Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man and a woman deceased in an upstairs bedroom. The cause of death was determined to be gunshot wounds, as stated by the police.

According to KPRC2, the victims of the incident were 34-year-old Fannie Uresti and her 43-year-old husband, Roberto Hernandez. However, their official identities are yet to be confirmed by the medical examiner.

At the time of the shooting, the three daughters of the Houston couple, aged 6, 9, and 14, were present in the house.

Several gunshots were heard by one of the children who claimed to have overheard her parents arguing, but the children were not harmed.

Uresti filed a police report 11 days before the shooting, alleging that her husband was tracking her and she was preparing to divorce him.

Uresti's mother revealed that the couple had previously argued and Hernandez threatened them with a gun.

She said her son-in-law had "obsessive" tendencies.

"Uresti's mother revealed to KPRC2 that her son wouldn't allow her to go out, have friends, or be herself. In essence, he wouldn't let her be free. This control over her psyche caused Uresti to desire to escape from him."

Houston Police have not responded to Planet Chronicle Digital's request for information on the case.
