Officials in Florida were filmed wrestling with an 8-foot alligator that was near a home's front yard.
After being discovered in Bonita Springs, the reptile was relocated.
Recently, officials and deputies in Florida acted quickly when an eight-foot alligator was discovered in the front yard of a Gulf Coast home.
The FWC enlisted the aid of the Lee County Sheriff's Office in capturing a reptile from a Bonita Springs residence over the weekend.
A Lee County Sheriff's Office official was caught on camera saying, "On three, really shove. One, two three, shove!" while at least three officials carried a gator to a truck, with one person holding its duct-taped mouth.
The officials loaded the alligator into a truck with a lid and secured the door.
"On Wednesday, the sheriff's office posted on Facebook about an 8-foot swamp puppy that appeared on a Bonita Springs resident's doorstep over the weekend. LCSO deputies assisted MyFWC Florida Fish and Wildlife in dealing with the situation."
The sheriff's office safely relocated the gator and said, "See ya later, Alligator!"
According to Florida Fish & Wildlife, alligators inhabit every county in Florida.
"The organization states on its website that Florida has experienced significant population growth in recent years, with many residents seeking waterfront homes and engaging in water-related activities. As a result, alligator-human interactions have become more frequent, increasing the likelihood of conflict."
Although many Floridians have learned to coexist with alligators, the potential for conflict always exists. Serious injuries caused by alligators are rare in Florida, but if you are concerned about an alligator, contact FWC’s toll-free Nuisance Alligator Hotline at 866-392-4286. The FWC will dispatch one of its contracted nuisance alligator trappers to resolve the situation.
It is advised to maintain a safe distance from alligators, avoid feeding them, and only swim in designated areas, as recommended by the organization.
In Pinellas County, near a campsite where she resided, the remains of a homeless woman were discovered inside an alligator's mouth near a waterway a year ago.
