Two dirt bike riders are being sought by the California Highway Patrol after a multi-city police chase on Thursday afternoon that attracted more than a dozen other bikers.
According to affiliate FOX 11, two riders are suspected of recruiting over a dozen other riders to join them in a high-speed chase through various neighborhoods in Los Angeles, including East Los Angeles, Inglewood, Mid-City, and Pico Union.
The two suspects were on white and purple dirt bikes, both wearing dark clothing, according to FOX 11. Additionally, others joined them using the same color bikes and wearing the same color clothing.
The expedition was documented by aerial cameras as bikers and ATV riders performed wheelies and communicated with other riders via cellphones.
Sometimes, the cyclists were riding on the incorrect side of the road.
FOX 11 was not able to confirm the charges that led to the initial chase, according to officials.
The chase lasted about a half hour, before officials called it off.
Los Angeles first responders are still battling historic wildfires in the area.
