Las Vegas Trump Hotel Cybertruck explosion depicted in new videos
The iconic hotel was destroyed in a blast following a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Matthew Livelsberger, according to investigators.
Investigators are trying to determine the cause of an active-duty U.S. Army soldier's suicide and subsequent explosion of an electric pick-up truck outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. Two new videos have been released in relation to the incident.
The first video depicts the Tesla Cybertruck exiting the hotel's valet area in the morning, while the second video, taken from within the hotel, shows the truck exploding and sending flames and fireworks into the sky.
According to investigators, Matthew Livelsberger, 37, shot himself in the head and then detonated a bomb in a futuristic-looking truck outside the iconic hotel, causing flames, fireworks, and shrapnel to explode just steps away from the hotel's glass doors.
The only fatality in the incident was Livelsberger, who sustained minor injuries along with seven bystanders. No motive has been established yet, and the cause of death was determined to be suicide by gunshot, as per the Clark County coroner.
Surveillance footage shows Livelsberger driving a rented Cybertruck out of the hotel's valet area, according to police. Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill states that Livelsberger then visited several locations on the Las Vegas Strip, including stopping at the parking lot of a business near the Flamingo Hotel.
The truck is stopped at traffic lights on Sands Avenue, and Livelsberger turns right toward Trump International. After stopping outside the front doors, the truck catches fire 17 seconds later.
The explosion, caused by a truck containing gasoline and camp fuel containers, occurred near the hotel's glass doors, but the doors were not damaged.

A witness in the hotel's lobby captured the second video of the truck engulfed in flames following the initial explosion. An alarm sounded within the hotel and emergency lights were flashing.
At approximately 8:40 a.m. local time, two explosive bangs were heard, followed by the sound of fireworks going off and then another explosion as the top of the truck remained on fire.
A handgun, another firearm, fireworks, a passport, military ID, credit cards, an iPhone, and a smartwatch were discovered among the charred items in the truck, according to McMahill. Authorities stated that both guns were legally acquired.
A U.S. Army special operations soldier named Livelsberger had multiple addresses and was on leave from Germany, where he was serving with the 10th Special Forces Group.
According to Kenny Cooper, a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives special agent, the level of sophistication displayed by an individual with this type of military experience is not what officials would expect.
As of Thursday afternoon, FBI Special Agent Spencer Evans stated that investigators were searching for any potential links between Livelsberger and terrorism, but no evidence had been discovered.
"The investigation into whether the individual is being investigated globally is ongoing, as we are currently running down leads around the world. At this time, we have no information that links this person to any terrorist organization worldwide. However, the investigation is focused on ruling out any terrorism connection."
In January 2006, Livelsberger joined the Army and eventually attained the rank of master sergeant.
Livelsberger was stationed at Fort Bragg, a large Army base in North Carolina that houses the Army Special Forces Command.
From March 2011 to July 2012, Livelsberger served in the National Guard, and from July 2012 to December 2012, he was a member of the Army Reserve. The U.S. Army Special Operations Command also confirmed that Livelsberger was on leave at the time of his death.
