On Monday in Texas, a McLaren sports car was split in half after colliding with a sedan, resulting in the death of both the driver and passenger.
Near the intersection of Abrams Road and Royal Lane in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas, an incident occurred just after 3 p.m., according to Fox 4 News Dallas-Forth Worth, quoting police.
The cause of the collision between the Toyota and the McLaren, which is a 570S Coupé capable of exceeding 200 mph, is unclear. The accident occurred approximately 10 miles north of Downtown Dallas.
The McLaren was split in half in a harrowing scene, with the mangled front part wrapped around a tree and the back half on the road about 30 feet away.
The tree was struck by the Toyota, causing its hood to be damaged.
The investigation is ongoing, and police and investigators are still at the scene gathering evidence.
570S Coupé models are powered by 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engines.
