Officials reported that the fire that broke out near San Jacinto, California, on Sunday burned over 650 acres.
Near Soboba Road and Gilman Spring Road north of San Jacinto, a brush fire was reported at approximately 2:15 p.m., as per the Riverside County Fire Department.
An investigation by fire officials determined the fire was human-caused.
The fire department stated that the fire is still not contained at 10 p.m. local time.
Six firefighters were hospitalized with minor injuries while battling the fire, with assistance from ground units and water-dropping aircraft.
Warnings to evacuate were given for certain areas of Riverside County due to the fire.
A care and reception center has been established at Nicolet Middle School in Banning.
The fire remains under investigation.
