Last month, one of three wealthy brothers accused of drugging and then sexually assaulting and raping dozens of women in multiple states reportedly missed his court hearing on Tuesday due to a mix-up in the case.

Two prominent jet-setting brokers, Tal and Oren Alexander, along with their brother Alon Alexander, were arrested in Miami Beach on Wednesday, Dec. 11 and are currently in federal custody.

According to indictment records obtained by Planet Chronicle Digital, the Alexander brothers are accused of working together and with others, both known and unknown, to repeatedly and violently drug, sexually assault, and rape victims in New York, Miami, and other locations.

Federal prosecutors said they have identified at least 40 victims.

Oren Alexander, a luxury real estate agent, failed to attend his bail hearing in Miami federal court on Tuesday, despite the U.S. Marshals Service almost flying him to New York City, where his three brothers have been charged. The Miami Herald reported that the reason for his absence is unclear, whether it was a clerical error or a mix-up between Oren and his twin brother Alon.

According to a spokesman for the U.S. Marshals, there was a mistake in issuing a transportation order to bring Oren Alexander from a federal lock-up in Miami to a detention center in New York City.

On Tuesday, the chief judge of a magistrate court in Miami stated in court that there was a "miscommunication of orders" with the Marshals in New York, resulting in Oren being "shipped to New York" and unable to attend his own bail hearing. The judge ordered that Oren be returned to Miami for his bond hearing on Wednesday.

The U.S. Marshals Service did not immediately respond for comment.

The three brothers were accused of conspiring to commit sex trafficking and sexually exploiting one woman through force, fraud or coercion. Additionally, Tal Alexander was charged with sexually exploiting a second victim.

The three brothers were accused of conspiring in a sex-trafficking scheme since at least 2010, but prosecutors claimed that their sexual violence against women went beyond that time frame, dating back to when the men were in high school in Miami.

According to the indictment, the Alexander brothers planned and organized sexual assaults on women, promising them luxurious experiences, travel, and accommodations before luring and enticing them to locations where they were then forcibly raped or assaulted, sometimes by multiple men, including themselves.

In 2016, the brothers and other individuals planned to transport women to Tulum, Mexico, and discussed the importation of women, lodging, and flight costs, as well as providing drugs to increase the likelihood of sexual engagement.

In 2022, Oren and Tal Alexander founded Official, a real estate firm that specializes in luxury listings in cities such as New York City, the Hamptons, Miami, and Los Angeles. The brothers had previously worked their way up the ranks at Douglas Elliman, one of the largest real estate brokerages in the country, according to prosecutors.

According to CBS News, their past clients include Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, Liam Gallagher, and Lindsay Lohan.

Alon Alexander, represented by Isabelle Kirshner, will enter a not guilty plea and address the charges in a courtroom.

Susan Necheles, acting on behalf of Oren Alexander, did not promptly respond to inquiries about the alleged mistake, resulting in his missing the hearing on Tuesday. Deanna Paul, representing Tal Alexander's older brother, had not previously commented on the indictment and charges.
