ICE director says mass deportation possible without family separation if they're deported together.
Tom Homan discussed Trump's plan for mass deportation on '60 Minutes'.
Tom Homan, a Planet Chronicle contributor, stated during an interview on CBS's "60 Minutes" that mass deportations could be carried out without separating families if families are deported together.
During a part of the former President Donald Trump's administration, Homan served as the acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Trump, aiming to win the 2024 presidential election, has stated that he would pursue the "largest mass deportation" in U.S. history.
Homan was questioned by journalist Cecilia Vega about the possibility of carrying out mass deportations without separating families.
"Families can be deported together," Homan answered.
Homan argued that the American child's relocation to another country was necessary because the parent had illegally entered the U.S. and had a child while in the country unlawfully, thus creating the crisis.
Homan rejected the idea that discussing mass deportation is racist or intimidating to immigrants, but he stated that it should be threatening to the community of illegal immigrants.
In the aftermath of the "historic illegal immigration crisis," he proposed that mass deportation is imperative.
If Homan were in charge, his top priorities for removal would be public safety and national security threats.
