On Tuesday in Philadelphia, a person was injured and a suspect was arrested following a shooting on a SEPTA platform, just before the presidential debate between former President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, according to local reports.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., a shooting occurred on a platform on the Market-Frankford Line at Market and 15th streets, according to WPVI.
Officials informed WCAU that the victim was taken to Jefferson Hospital for treatment, but their condition was not disclosed.
The Philadelphia Police Department has confirmed that a fight had escalated before shots were fired.
Tuesday's presidential debate between Harris and Trump will be preceded by a shooting.
The National Constitution Center in Philadelphia will host the debate, which is just a five-minute stroll away from the location of the shooting.
The line has resumed regular service after police activity cleared.
