A student from Apalachee High School recorded the evacuation and the victim lying on the ground after a mass shooting.
Footage captured inside Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, on Wednesday after the mass shooting reveals a feeling of tranquility amid the turmoil.
Alexsandra Romero, a 15-year-old sophomore, recorded law enforcement officers leading her classmates out of a classroom.
""Follow the deputy down this aisle, hurry up and evacuate the school," an officer is heard saying."
Romero told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution she thought what was happening was a drill.
"Romero stated, "My hands were shaking and I felt terrible because everyone was crying and trying to locate their siblings.""
A video recorded by a teenager as she exited school depicts a corpse under a blood-soaked sheet and firearms scattered about.
Two teachers and two students were identified as the four victims who were killed.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Chris Hosey identified the teachers as Richard Aspinwall and Christina Irmie, who both taught math, and the students as Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, both 14.
Nine others were taken to various hospitals with gunshot wounds.
On Wednesday, authorities identified the suspected shooter as Colt Gray, who surrendered and was taken into custody following the rampage.
Since last year, the FBI has been monitoring Gray as a potential threat, the agency confirmed.
The FBI stated that at that time, there was no probable cause for arrest or any additional law enforcement action on the local, state, or federal levels.
