Flames engulfed a Connecticut home on Thanksgiving as a turkey was fried in the garage, according to the fire department.
It took firefighters 16 hours to put out the huge blaze.
The fire department stated that the Connecticut home blaze on Thanksgiving was most likely caused by someone cooking a turkey inside the garage.
The firefighters raced to put out the blaze as photos and video showed the home fully engulfed in flames.
The Weston Volunteer Fire Department stated that fire crews tried to stop the garage fire from spreading to the residence through an aggressive fire attack, but were hindered by hazardous fire conditions and structural collapse.
For several minutes, the flow of water was halted when a car drove over the hose that firefighters were using to extinguish the fire.
After 16 hours, the fire was extinguished and the home has been deemed uninhabitable.
The fire did not result in any injuries, and the official cause is still being investigated.
The $3 million home is 10,000 square feet, according to CT Insider, who reported that approximately 25 people were in the home for Thanksgiving when the fire broke out at around 3:40 p.m.
Several fire departments, including Westport, Wilton, Redding, West Redding, Georgetown, Weston, and Ridgefield, aided the Weston Volunteer Fire Department.
