Family of Fox Hollow serial killer victim seeks help to identify 10,000 pieces of remains: 'Second only to 9/11'
An estimated 10,000 human remains have been discovered on the 18-acre Indiana estate of Herb Baumeister, the former owner of the Sav-A-Lot shopping chain and a notorious serial killer.
On Thursday, the Westminster, Indiana community paid tribute to the nine victims of the infamous Fox Hollow Farm serial killings, as well as an undetermined number of unidentified victims, for the first time.
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office and Coroner's Office have identified nine of the 10,000 human remains found on the 18-acre estate of serial killer Herb Baumeister, owner of the Sav-A-Lot shopping chain.
"Linda Znachko, founder of He Knows Your Name, stated that the number of remains stored, which is over 10,000, is second only to 9/11. Additionally, the investigation requires a significant amount of manpower and money for pathology and DNA work, making it a huge undertaking."
Planet Chronicle Digital reported that Znachko connected with Hamilton County Coroner Jeffrey Jellison due to their mutual interest in honoring the forgotten and unidentified dead. On Thursday, they dedicated a memorial to the Fox Hollow Farm victims, which included a plaque with the named victims and a space designated for the unidentified victims to be remembered.
An outdoor sculpture was purchased by my organization from an artist in Canada, David Perrett, and it was placed today with the victims' names listed. There is an opportunity for more names to be added to the list if there are any additional victims. Additionally, an ossuary will be placed at the memorial site for any future remains or family members who would like to bury their loved ones there, at no cost.
Since being elected coroner, Jellison has made it his mission to identify the unknown remains in the Fox Hollow case, which he inherited.
The nine victims identified are Jeffrey Allen "Jeff" Jones, Allen Lee Livingston, Manuel Resendez, John Lee "Johnny" Bayer, Richard Douglas Hamilton Jr., Steven Spurlin Hale, Allen Wayne Broussard, Roger Allen Goodlet, and Michael Frederick "Mike" Keirn.
"Jellison stated during a press conference that while the investigation is ongoing, it is now appropriate to publicly honor the members of the community who have passed away. He added that the organization is proud to collaborate with He Knows Your Name to continue their mission of offering dignity and a final resting place to all individuals, regardless of their circumstances."
Matthew Pranger, Livingston's cousin, was present at the memorial event held on Thursday to pay tribute to him.
Pranger stated on Planet Chronicle Digital that the memorial service yesterday, in his opinion, provided justice to both those who have been identified and those who have not yet been identified.

He stated that one reason he agreed to be a spokesperson for his family was to encourage other families who have lost loved ones to come forward so that the unidentified victims can be named.
"The purpose of involving the public in identifying potential victims of the Fox Hollow Farm killings is to provide services and a resting place for the victims' families, explained the spokesperson."

Last year, the ninth identified victim was named, while the other eight were identified in the 1990s.
In the near future, authorities aim to increase the number of DNA technology advancements to at least 12.
Baumeister, who is believed to have killed dozens of men between the 1980s and 1990s, fled to Canada and died by suicide in 1996 when authorities began looking at him as a suspect in the serial killings.
Since the start of recovery efforts on Fox Hollow Farms, thirty years have elapsed, and on Thursday, the community held a public dedication to honor the victims in a formal remembrance service.
