Officials reported that a New York City bus driver lost control and skidded into a wall, causing the bus to teeter on the edge of an overpass as captured in a video.
The driver of a vehicle operated by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the Fire Department of New York lost control and crashed into a stone wall at 8:40 a.m. on Friday, according to a spokesperson who confirmed the incident to Planet Chronicle Digital.
A BXM1 bus, which runs to and from Manhattan, was captured on video footage dangling over the Henry Hudson Parkway and Kappock Street in the Bronx.
Firefighters were able to assist the bus driver without injury.
Fire department officials were seen in a video responding to a scene where a bus had fallen and dislodged stone rubble from an overpass onto the street below.
Video showed firefighters using a heavy-duty cable to hook onto the bus and pull it back from the steep fall.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, as stated by authorities, and the Department of Transportation will look into the incident.
