During a routine stop, the California Highway Patrol engages in some mischief.
A Spider Monkey was traveling with the 2022 Roll-Royce Ghost and its owner.
On Monday in Madera County, a Rolls-Royce was stopped during a routine traffic stop, but the situation took an unexpected turn.
A Spider Monkey was discovered in a Rolls-Royce Ghost that was stopped on Highway 99 for excessive speeding.
A traffic stop with a twist occurred when CHP discovered an exotic animal in an exotic car.
In California, primates are illegal to own as pets, and it is believed that the monkey is one month old.
Ali Mused Adel Mohamed, 27, was arrested for DUI and found to be in possession of cannabis for sale, police officials stated.
Animal control safely captured the monkey and later transferred it to the Oakland Zoo for proper care.
CHP says Mohamed is facing charges for the incident.
"The driver was arrested at the Madera County Jail and is being charged with possession of an exotic animal," they posted on their social media accounts.
