Driver arrested in perplexing vanishing of woman and car found in ditch
At an interstate exit in Alabama, Chastity Ann Terry was last spotted by police, they said.
The family of a missing 39-year-old woman in Alabama is urging police to assist in finding her after she disappeared last week.
Chastity Ann Terry was last seen on Jan. 10 at approximately 1:30 a.m. at an interstate exit in Guin, Alabama, according to the Hamilton Police Department.
Terry may have a condition that affects her judgment, according to authorities.
Charles David Williams Jr. was the last person seen with Terry at a Love's gas station truck stop on Interstate 22, according to Hamilton Police Chief Jordan Carter.
"Ms. Terry left with a male from Love's in Jasper and continued westbound on I-22 from there," he said. "We believe she was in a vehicle that was in a ditch on I-22 near Exit 22, which is County Road 45."
On Tuesday, police revealed that they had seized Terry's last known vehicle and apprehended the driver.
On Jan. 12, Williams was arrested and placed in the Marion County Jail for conspiring to commit a controlled substance offense.
"Our investigators are working diligently to locate Chastity," police said.
The pair traveled to the Birmingham area to buy drugs, but authorities did not provide details if Williams' arrest was related to Terry's disappearance.
Her sister begged for the public's assistance in finding Terry through a Facebook post.

Terry was characterized as standing at 5'6" and weighing 160 lbs., with strawberry blonde hair and hazel eyes.
