As wildfires ravaged Los Angeles County, Dolvett Quince, a personal trainer famous for his stint on Biggest Loser seasons 12 to 17, has been sharing his experiences on social media.

Quince claims that he learned about the fires through social media and could see the smoke from his home, which is located 2 miles away from the Palisades.

That night, I stayed in my home, but it was incredibly difficult to breathe due to the ashes and smoke in the air. It got into my throat, nose, and eyes, and even affected my dogs. We all decided to pack a bag just in case. The next day, we received an evacuation notice with a warning.

When Quince first saw the smoke as the fires started, he thought it was a shame. However, he didn't realize the severity of the situation until he returned to his home today, where he found it to be in bad shape.

"The wind blew over a lot of tree shrubs and debris is still on the roads from the tree damage. He thinks it will take a long time to clean up and it looks pretty bad," he says.

He stays optimistic, despite the many disasters that have occurred throughout history.

"Katrina and Puerto Rico survived, right? They were able to bounce back. I believe it's because California has numerous resources, and people living here want to see their city handled and governed better. I think individuals will take action to ensure we come back stronger. I'm optimistic about this," said Quince.

The community surrounding him is already showing signs of bouncing back.

"I witnessed individuals assisting others with bottled waters, and I plan to do the same when I exit here with you and contribute to the community," he stated. "I believe that in Los Angeles, there has been a shift in energy where people are now taking care of one another and helping others."

Most wildfire victims, including him, expressed disappointment at the government's preparedness in an area prone to both fires and earthquakes.

"Although we are aware of the issue, we were not adequately prepared for it."

He commended firefighters across the region for their prompt action and support, emphasizing their dedication should be recognized with greater appreciation.

"Quince praised the response time of the firefighters and firewomen who came, stating that it was "absolutely amazing." He believes that firefighters should be paid and appreciated more, especially in states prone to fires. As a state, he thinks there should be a salary increase for these brave individuals who risk their lives to save others. Quince emphasized the importance of acknowledging the hard work and sacrifices made by firefighters and their families."
