DC Police Recover Stolen French Bulldog and Reunite with Owner
Two individuals, Raphael Lambert Loundermon II and Khaliah Johnson, have been apprehended and accused of participating in an armed robbery.
A woman from Washington, D.C. is rejoicing over the safe recovery of her French bulldog, who was taken during an armed robbery last week.
On Saturday, the Metropolitan Police Department posted on social media that Jaineen Brown's "Yurman" has returned to her.
The Violent Crimes Suppression Division of MPD recovered Yurman the French bulldog tonight. He was stolen last Saturday and is now back with his owner. Our members did a great job on this case.
Yurman was brought back to her, and Brown, who was excited about their reunification and even lost a shoe running toward him, also took to social media to explain the moment.
"I was running and did not want to stop, but my shoe came off and now my boy is home!" Brown exclaimed.
On Saturday, June 29, at approximately 8:20 p.m., Yurman was robbed at gunpoint while strolling in the 1700 block of Fort Davis Street SE.
According to an MPD news release, the stolen pooch was found by Metro police officers after Yurman's owner received a call from someone claiming they would sell him back to her.
The sting operation led to the arrests of Raphael Lambert Loundermon II and Khaliah Johnson, both charged with extortion and receiving stolen property.
A third suspect is being sought by police, who believe they were driving a black Honda with Virginia tags, as seen on surveillance video leaving the scene where the dog was taken, MPD stated.
The department is requesting anyone who can identify the car in the picture to contact 202-727-9099 or text the tip line at 50411.
