Craig Rothfeld, a consultant who previously worked with Harvey Weinstein, has been hired by Luigi Mangione, according to a report.
Brian Thompson's shooting death has resulted in Luigi Mangione being detained without bail in Brooklyn.
Harvey Weinstein's former prison consultant has been retained by Luigi Mangione, the Maryland Ivy Leaguer accused of assassinating the CEO of UnitedHealthcare.
Craig Rothfeld, a former finance professional who served time in jail for investment and tax fraud, has extensive knowledge of the NYC Department of Correction and the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, as stated on his website bio.
In 2015, Rothfeld and two business partners were convicted of defrauding $11 million from 15 investors and falsifying business records. As a result, he was sentenced to 1 ½ to 4 ½ years in prison.
Inside Outside Ltd, Rothfeld's firm, posted a link to a New York Post article about his hiring on their website, but his office did not immediately respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's requests for comment.

Mangione is accused of planning a cross-country trip that involved the Dec. 4 assassination-style shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson outside the hotel where his company was holding an investor conference later that morning.
A person from Minnesota journeyed to New York City for the occasion.
After being accused of a crime, Mangione allegedly escaped the city and led police on a five-day chase across interstates, eventually being captured in a McDonald's restaurant in Altoona, Pennsylvania, where he was recognized from a wanted poster.
The police discovered him in possession of the suspected murder weapon, which contained a 3D-printed receiver and suppressor, along with a fake ID that he allegedly used to enter a Manhattan hostel prior to the shooting.
Mangione is accused of first-degree murder in furtherance of terrorism and stalking murder, as well as lesser charges of carrying a forged ID and possessing a firearm in both New York and Pennsylvania.
He is being held without bail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
Weinstein, a former Hollywood movie mogul, was convicted of sex crimes in 2020 and is currently awaiting a new trial while facing an additional indictment.
In 2021, he was convicted of sex assault in Los Angeles and now faces similar charges in London.
