Bourbon Street chaos captured on bodycam during New Orleans terrorist attack
Fourteen civilians and a gunman were killed in a terrorist attack that resulted in injuries to two police officers.
On Friday, the New Orleans Police Department released body camera footage of officers responding to the New Year's terrorist attack on Bourbon Street that resulted in the death of 15 people, including the attacker, Shamsud-Din Jabbar.
The NOPD footage obtained by Planet Chronicle Digital through a public records request depicts officers confronting Jabbar, who was still in his white Ford-150 when he rammed through Bourbon Street at approximately 3:15 a.m. on January 1st.
NOPD released footage of Jabbar firing at police from beneath an airbag in his rented truck in Houston. The 13-second clip features loud gunfire.
The video depicts civilians fleeing from the gunfire, while NOPD has previously stated that two officers were injured in the shootout that resulted in Jabbar's death.
In addition to the 14 civilians killed, a total of 35 people were injured in the attack.
