Bishop T.D. Jakes experiences health issue following intense sermon on Sunday.
Before falling silent, Jakes recited Psalm 19:14.
On Sunday, Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a health incident during a church service at the Potter's House of Dallas, causing the service to abruptly end.
A video of a medical emergency involving Jakes, a celebrity pastor and motivational speaker, spread across social media shortly after the incident.
"I still love to preach and I ain't tired of it," Jakes, 67, said to the audience. "I miss you."
"Have you ever visited someone in a hospital and thought it would motivate them, only to be motivated yourself?" That's what preaching is like, he said. "You believe you're imparting something, but you receive more than you gave."
The pastor then moved on to quoting Psalm 19:14 before going silent.
"May my words and heartfelt meditation be pleasing to you, O Lord, my source of strength and salvation. Let them rest in peace," he declared.
Jakes suddenly stopped talking and appeared to convulse while seated and gazing off into the distance. The audience rushed onto the stage to assist him, and a speaker requested that they pray for him during the time he was being attended to.
On Sunday, the preacher's X account posted an update about the medical emergency.
Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a slight health incident during today's service and received immediate medical attention after delivering a powerful hour-long message.
Jakes is currently stable and under the care of medical professionals.
"The Potter's House family expresses gratitude for the community's love, prayers, and support."
