Aurora, Colorado: Gang Members Freed on $1,000 Bond
How will Aurora Police monitor suspected gang members after their release on bond?
Two individuals suspected of being members of the Tren de Aragua gang and Venezuelan nationals have been released from custody on a bond of $1,000 each, according to police.
Danielle Jurinsky, a member of the Aurora City Council, criticized the actions of the Aurora PD in an exclusive statement to Planet Chronicle Digital. She expressed her disappointment with the release of two gang members who were in the United States illegally and were released on bond. Jurinsky questioned what the Aurora PD had planned to monitor these individuals.
In Denver, Colorado, officials do not cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, making it a sanctuary city.
The two suspected Tren de Aragua gang members, who are Venezuelan nationals, illegally crossed the southern border in 2023 and were apprehended at Eagle Pass, Texas by Border Patrol agents. Nixon and Dixon Azuaje-Perez were then given notices to appear and released into the country, awaiting their court dates. However, the Aurora Police Department has not yet responded to Planet Chronicle Digital's follow-up request regarding monitoring the two released prisoners.
