Another crime is uncovered after a petty theft at a Texas pizzeria.
Another theft victim was uncovered after the Wichita Falls pizzeria's viral post received community support.
The viral social media post of a Texas pizzeria's unfortunate petty theft incident uncovered another victim.
In response to the theft of its tip jar money, Stone Oven Pizza in Wichita Falls posted on Facebook and initiated an auction to compensate its employees for their lost earnings.
The cowboy hat left behind by the teenagers accused in the act was used by the restaurant owners to recover the costs.
Unfortunately, last night our crew encountered a situation where some teenagers stole the tips from the tip jar. Fortunately, they left behind a hat. Although we don't typically wear hats, we know that the community of Wichita Falls appreciates them. As a result, we are hosting an auction for this authentic cowboy jicama-giga. The highest bidder by Tuesday afternoon will receive the prize.
The three employees who lost their tips will receive an equal share of the proceeds from the auction.
The pizzeria did not anticipate that the kind-hearted effort would result in the identification of the hat's rightful owner, who was not among the teenagers.
A man's hat was stolen by the same teens who broke into his truck, as shown in an update to the original post.
The team members decided that the man's head looked cold and decided to return the property to its rightful owner. The employees were given $50 bonuses for their altruism and compassion.
The restaurant proudly boasted about their town and the support they received after the theft.
