An undocumented Salvadoran man who is accused of raping a child was apprehended by ICE after illegally reentering the US.
An unlawfully present Salvadoran national, Bryan Daniel Aldana-Arevalo, 28, is charged with multiple sex offenses against a child.
On Monday, ICE Boston announced that an illegal Salvadoran immigrant was arrested and charged with multiple sex crimes against a child in Massachusetts after reentering the country at an undisclosed time.
On Nantucket Island, a 28-year-old Salvadoran national named Bryan Daniel Aldana-Arvelo was arrested by ICE Boston agents for committing multiple sex crimes against a child.
ERO Boston Field Office Director Todd M. Lyons stated that Bryan Daniel Aldana-Arevalo is accused of some heinous and unsettling offenses against a Nantucket child.
ERO Boston will not tolerate a significant danger to the children of our Massachusetts communities. We will continue to prioritize the safety of our public by arresting and removing egregious noncitizen offenders from our New England neighborhoods.
It is unclear when and where Aldana entered the United States without being inspected, admitted, or paroled by a U.S. immigration official.
On July 26, Aldana was arraigned in Nantucket District Court for charges of raping a child who was 10 years older and committing two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.
The Nantucket District Court released Aldana on bail July 29.
On September 10, ERO Boston officers arrested Aldana in Nantucket and issued him a summons to appear before a Department of Justice immigration judge.
ICE Boston arrested several illegal immigrant sex offenders in Nantucket last week, marking the first arrest made in the operation.
ERO Boston has been conducting targeted enforcement actions in collaboration with Nantucket Police in Nantucket, Massachusetts. These actions, which focused on several egregious noncitizen offenders, have been ongoing for the past few days and concluded this morning, as stated by ERO Boston Spokesperson James Covington in a statement to Planet Chronicle Digital.
ERO Boston expressed gratitude to the Nantucket Police for their assistance during the process. Although some parts of the investigation are still ongoing, ERO will not provide additional information at this time. ERO Boston will provide more information in the near future.
Authorities said Aldana remains in ERO custody.
