On Tuesday, Lakeway Police arrested Luis Manuel Hernandez Bonilla during routine patrol operations, as stated in a departmental release.
According to the statement, Bonilla was stopped due to "defective brake lamps" and it was discovered that he was a reported MS-13 gang member wanted by El Salvadoran authorities for homicide.
Bonilla was taken into custody without incident, according to the LPD.
According to ICE records, he was transferred to the Boone County Jail in Burlington, Kentucky, after being handed over to federal immigration authorities.
