An ambulance first responder from the blue city was discovered dead in a homicide.
In New York City, an employee of Marquis Ambulette, Peter Forrest, was discovered deceased.
An ambulance driver, who was a 64-year-old first responder, was found dead in New York City on Monday. The police are currently investigating his death.
On Monday morning at approximately 10:30 a.m., EMS workers discovered Peter Forrest inside a Marquis Ambulette bus parked on a side street in the Bronx's Castle Hill Park neighborhood near Barrett Avenue. The ambulette had been left abandoned in the area for some time, according to the New York Police Department.
The New York Post reported that the ambulette was found with Forrest face down in a pool of blood on the floor.
The man found dead at the scene was identified as Forrest, a Bronx resident working for a private ambulance company. The cause of death was determined to be trauma to the body, including head and face injuries, prompting further investigation, according to police.
Despite the NYPD's investigation into Forrest's death as a homicide, a medical examiner has not yet determined his cause of death.
No arrests had been made in the private ambulance worker's death as of Wednesday morning.
On Wednesday morning, a representative from Marquis Ambulette confirmed that Forrest was an employee of the company and that Marquis was cooperating with police. However, the representative declined to provide any additional information.
