An 80-year-old dog walker was killed by a carjacking suspect in Seattle, and a plumber attempted to stop the suspect with a bat.

An 80-year-old dog walker was carjacked, dragged, and run over with her own car by a suspect in Seattle Tuesday morning.

At approximately 9:55 a.m. on August 20th in Seattle, law enforcement officers were dispatched to a neighborhood due to carjacking reports.

A woman in her 80s was found receiving CPR from a bystander when officers arrived on the scene.

Despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced dead, officials said.

Police determined the woman was a neighborhood dog walker.

Despite the efforts of multiple bystanders, she was fatally injured during the carjacking and struggle when she was dragged by her car.

Several neighbors spoke to FOX 13 and described the harrowing incident.

According to Laura Dynan, a neighbor who observed the incident, there were sounds of commotion and screaming, which appeared to be a crash.

The man was struggling with the dog walker outside Dynan's house, as she heard the commotion from inside her home.

Before I realized there were dogs running down the street and screaming, I had already left my front door, Dynan admitted.

By the time Dynan got outside, the suspect was already driving the victim's blue SUV.

According to FOX 13, Dynan observed the suspect run over the woman with his SUV, and as she lay injured on the street, a man pursued the carjacker with what she believed to be a baseball bat.

"A plumber in the neighborhood, who happened to have a bat on him, was trying to save her," Dynan said.

The plumber attempted to break the back window of the stolen SUV, causing damage to the front windshield, which allowed some of the dogs inside to escape.

"Dynan remembered the chaos that ensued when the guy with the bat was batting out all the windows. The dogs leaped out, adding to the pandemonium. There was no reason for the guy to run over her car."

According to neighbors, the suspect not only damaged the property but also smashed into vehicles parked on the street.

The suspect fled the area in her stolen vehicle and was not located.

In the afternoon, police discovered a dead dog with stab wounds near a blue recycling bin in a park. Additionally, an abandoned stolen SUV was found nearby.

The suspects are being sought by the Seattle Police, but no arrests have been made yet.

It is likely that the woman died while attempting to rescue her pets.

Dynan stated that the dogs in the car were not hers, but belonged to other people in the neighborhood. She was attempting to safeguard them, he added.

The Seattle Police Department is seeking information on the suspect's whereabouts and encourages anyone with such information to contact them.
