On Friday, a man in Seattle was apprehended following an assault on two moviegoers with a firearm inside a theater. The man's threat to "shoot everyone" caused panic among the patrons, who fled in haste.
The theater evacuation took place at Regal Thornton Place at approximately 9:59 p.m. on Friday, according to FOX13 Seattle, which cited the Seattle Police Department. The 30-year-old suspect became enraged when a moviegoer passed his row of seats twice.
The suspect yelled he had a handgun and beat one of the victims with it after the moviegoer passed a second time, police said.
The suspect attempted to wrestle the handgun away from other patrons, causing the magazine to eject and causing moviegoers to flee in a panic.
According to police, the suspect yelled "I've got a gun," "I'll shoot you," and "I'll shoot everyone."
According to a police report, the "uncooperative, argumentative suspect" was arrested by police.
At the theater, two victims of an assault sought help from officers. A 40-year-old man sustained a partially lacerated ear, and a 42-year-old woman suffered a head laceration. Both were treated at the scene before being transported to a Seattle area hospital.
A 30-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with assault in the first degree, felony harassment, and unlawful imprisonment, according to FOX13.
