On Monday, a San Francisco woman who has a history of alleged threatening behavior towards children and their caregivers at city parks pleaded not guilty during her first court appearance, according to a report.

Over the past four years, Kim Andrews, 37, has been charged in four separate criminal cases for allegedly approaching and threatening children in public spaces, including playgrounds, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

On Monday, in the latest case, Andrews was in court for an incident that took place in Golden Gate Park on July 19. It is alleged that Andrews approached a woman and her 18-month-old toddler along the park path and shouted, "Oh, a baby" and "You’re going to die" while holding a lighter and an aerosol can of Lysol.

In connection with the incident, Andrews was accused of one count of endangering a child and one count of making threatening behavior.

According to the Chronicle, Deputy Public Defender Tom McMahon informed the court that Andrews had undergone 120 days of psychiatric treatment at a hospital following her most recent arrest and entered a mental health conservatorship in November.

Andrews has been taking medication for her mental health conditions, and McMahon expressed concern that prolonged time in jail may hinder her access to the care and services she requires.

Judge Kenneth Wine of San Francisco Superior Court deemed the alleged encounters "horrific" and "extraordinarily threatening," stating that Andrews posed a "danger to the public."

According to court records obtained by the newspaper, Andrews was previously arrested for battery and robbery, shoplifting, and criminal threats.

Andrews' detention has been sought by prosecutors due to her posing a public safety risk.

"District Attorney Brooke Jenkins stated on Nov. 26 that her office will do everything possible to ensure the safety of children in the city. She added that they will fight for justice for the family who were out enjoying a summer walk in the park when Andrews was charged in the July incident. Child endangerment and making threats to anyone, especially to children and vulnerable victims, will not be tolerated."
