A video depicts an armed group occupying a troubled apartment complex in Colorado, which is suspected to have been seized by migrants.
An anonymous resident informed Planet Chronicle Digital that no assistance is forthcoming for anyone.
An unknown group of men, armed with handguns and a scoped rifle, were caught on camera entering an apartment complex in Colorado. The former resident claims that law enforcement did not respond to their calls for assistance, leading to a lack of accountability.
The transnational gang Tren de Aragua, or TdA, with a reported 5,000 members, has a motto of "real until death," or "real hasta la muerte." The gang is now linked with over 100 crimes across the nation, according to reporting from the New York Post. Aurora City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky said in an exclusive interview with Planet Chronicle Digital that "without a doubt that there is sex trafficking now going on" in relationship to TdA's activities in the city. One resident who spoke with Planet Chronicle Digital on the condition of anonymity said, "These are ghosts."
The resident who moved out of the apartment building on Wednesday afternoon with the help of City Council Member Danielle Jurinsky and congressional candidate John Fabbricatore said that she had to borrow money from everyone she knew to get into a new place. She also credited Planet Chronicle with her move out of the troubled complex, saying that they connected her with the councilwoman who helped her get out of there. Aurora Police released a statement saying that they believe reports of TdA influence in Aurora are isolated.
Denver Police stated on Wednesday that they were "unaware" of any apartment takeovers by gangs in the area. The resident told Planet Chronicle Digital that there is no safety net for them because the police are not coming. They said, "stay inside and lock your doors." However, the resident needs to work and was paying rent every month for years, while the people who took over the apartment haven't been paying rent at all.
Danielle Jurinsky, an Aurora City Council Member, expressed frustration in an exclusive interview with Planet Chronicle Digital about the lack of acknowledgment from the media and other elected officials regarding the presence of a trend in the Denver metro area. She stated, "It has been like pulling teeth to get anyone to recognize the issue and consider it a problem." Jurinsky shared her personal experience with the police, stating, "When I was crying, their response was, 'You ever think about moving?'" She believes that the police have checked out and are not on their side, leaving residents feeling helpless.
When contacted for comment, the Aurora Police Department provided Planet Chronicle Digital with the same statement they had previously posted on social media.
