During a Sunday press conference, Viliame Gavoka, the deputy prime minister and minister for tourism and civil aviation, announced that seven people had been hospitalized after consuming drinks at the five-star Warwick Fiji hotel. Gavoka stated that the victims had experienced nausea, vomiting, and urological issues.
Currently, two patients have been discharged from the high-dependency unit (HDU) at 12:25 p.m. today. Two more HDU patients will be cleared for discharge this afternoon following a medical review. Gavoka stated that this incident is a unique occurrence, impacting only seven patrons at a particular bar within a renowned resort in Fiji, which has been thriving for several years and boasts a solid reputation, particularly among Australian tourists.

At least two Australians are returning home after four of their group fell gravely ill after consuming cocktails at the Coral Coast hotel bar and were hospitalized, The Guardian reported.
"According to David Sandoe, who spoke to the Australian Broadcasting Corp. in a Sunday interview, his daughter and granddaughter are doing well, despite the challenges they've faced. The mother-and-daughter duo had a wonderful break together and enjoy each other's company. As a family, we love Fiji and it was a logical choice for their vacation. They were thoroughly enjoying themselves."
Sandoe stated that the mother and daughter's week-long vacation in Fiji was cut short due to hospitalization, and they ultimately decided to fly back to Australia.
The grandfather stated that there was a group of them in the lounge at the resort, and they all had a similar cocktail. Unfortunately, seven people in the group came down with the symptoms that have been discussed.
Officials from the Fiji Ministry of Health and police are currently investigating the incidents and will provide updates as they become available.
