A Texas woman was apprehended for animal cruelty after abandoning nine dogs in the scorching sun without sustenance or hydration.
Nine dogs were left outside by Eyeisha Young, their owner, who was subsequently arrested.
In Texas, authorities are probing a severe animal cruelty incident involving nine dogs found in outdoor cages during extreme heat. Tragically, one of the dogs has passed away.
"It was a tragic situation," said Manor Police Chief Ryan Phipps to FOX 7 Austin.
Officers from Manor Police found dogs in 104-degree temperatures with a heat index of 108 in a suspect's backyard. The dogs were locked in cages with no food or water, and two of them were wearing sweaters. Neighbors said the dogs had been wearing the same sweaters since last winter.

Eyeisha Young, the owner of the dogs, was arrested for leaving them outside.
Under Texas law, Ms. Young has the legal right to request the return of her dogs. However, a judge will ultimately decide on the dogs' ownership. Meanwhile, the Manor Police Department intends to acquire legal ownership of the remaining dogs and put them up for adoption.
