A Texas man was apprehended for aggravated robbery and threatening to chop off a woman's finger.
A day before the incident, Manuel Hernandez-Hernandez, 28, was reportedly released from jail.
A suspect has been arrested in Dallas Metroplex for being part of a group of four men who allegedly attacked a woman, tied her up, threatened to cut off her fingers, and stole more than $75,000 worth of cash and items from her home.
On Monday, Manuel Hernandez-Hernandez, 28, was arrested in Colleyville and is currently being held on an immigration hold at the Dallas County Jail, as stated in an arrest affidavit.
Hernandez-Hernandez was arrested and released in Colleyville 10 days prior, but the arrest report did not specify the charges.
On Sept. 21 in Dallas, a woman was arrested after being approached by four unknown men when she got out of her vehicle. She was forced to the ground at gunpoint, then taken into her home and tied up with pieces of clothing in her bedroom.
The men, who spoke Spanish, threatened to cut off her fingers if she didn't reveal the location of her safe, as she told police.
The men escaped with $75,000 in cash, the woman's phone, a Gucci purse, and several coins from a wooden box, according to the documents.
She called the police after waiting in the bathroom for several minutes before leaving.
The affidavit states that the woman was found with some of her clothing on and refused to be transported to a hospital for medical examination.
The wooden box, containing coins, had Hernandez-Hernandez's fingerprints identified, according to investigators who reported that the woman's house was ransacked.
A lineup of men was presented to the woman, but she informed the police that she couldn't recall any of their facial features.
A few days after the incident, police discovered video footage of a possible suspect's vehicle and two unknown individuals approaching the woman's garage at the same time.
No evidence supports that the men involved in the incident are members of the Tren de Aragua gang from Venezuela, despite social media posts claiming otherwise.
"The Dallas Police Department stated that there is no evidence to suggest that Hernandez-Hernandez is a member of the Tren de Aragua gang from Venezuela, and the investigation is ongoing."
The Texas Governor, Greg Abbott, has designated the Tren de Aragua gang as a foreign terrorist organization.
