The St. Louis teen who was brutally attacked in a viral video is now reportedly breathing on her own and remains in stable condition as of Friday.
A March 8 assault near Hazelwood East High School in Spanish Lake, Missouri, resulted in a 16-year-old girl suffering a fractured skull, which led to life-threatening brain swelling and bleeding.
Kaylee is now breathing on her own and remains stable, and the best news so far is that we have been moved out of the ICU. We are grateful for the support and prayers we have received.
According to Fox 2, Bryan Kaemmerer, the family's attorney, stated that Kaylee had not regained consciousness in the week following the fight.
The 15-year-old girl was arrested by police for her involvement in a fight and was held by St. Louis County Family Court on assault charges.
The Missouri Attorney General, Andrew Bailey, launched an investigation into the Hazelwood School District after the attack and stated that he would also examine the district's DEI programs' role in the safety failures following the violent incident.
The investigation is centered on the role of radical programs and safety failures in the events at Hazelwood, as Bailey's staff stated to Planet Chronicle Digital, emphasizing the need for an explanation from the district and the community.
Bailey wrote to Dr. Nettie Collins-Hart, the superintendent of Hazelwood School District, expressing his concern over the district's failure to adhere to Missouri law and prioritize student safety over political narrative.
Planet Chronicle' Stephany Price contributed to this report.
