A road rage suspect violently assaults his mother by dragging her out of the car and slamming her onto the pavement.
A Massachusetts woman accused a Rhode Island man of assault after a fender-bender.
A video recorded a road-rage attack in Massachusetts, where a man pulled a mother of two out of her car and body-slammed her head-first, resulting in serious injuries.
On Friday morning at approximately 9 a.m. in Attleboro, Massachusetts, Hailea Soares, 31, rear-ended the driver in front of her after the latter suddenly stopped, as reported by WHDH-TV News.
"Soares recounted to the outlet that he slammed on his brakes repeatedly, and when they reached the intersection, he hit a light and was in front of him. As soon as they passed through, they didn't make it across, and he slammed on the brakes, causing Soares to hit him."
According to the Attleboro Police Department, Soares was pulled out of her vehicle by Gladior Kwesiah, a 26-year-old Rhode Island resident.
Soares said that the attacker yanked away her phone when she tried to take photos of the damage to her vehicle.
"The woman recounted to WHDH how she tried to defend herself, but he picked her up and that was when the video of her being thrown to the ground was recorded. She remembered thinking, "I'm in the air right now. I'm in the air.""
According to WHDH, Soares was admitted to Sturdy Memorial Hospital with a broken knee, a broken foot, an injured eye socket, and a serious head wound.
According to the Attleboro Police Department, Kwesiah was arrested on scene and charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon resulting in serious injury, malicious destruction of property, and driving without a license. He is being held on $25,000 bail.
Sgt. Kevin Sellers of the Attleboro police department stated that the incident was "unacceptable behavior that resulted from a minor car accident."
Soares said she was just happy to survive the attack.
"He was just being a jerk on the road," she said in an interview with ABC-TV News. "I don’t know if he was having a bad day. I don’t know what that was, but if that’s the type of person he is, I don’t think he belongs in society with the rest of us."
Nearly $29,000 had been raised on a GoFundMe initiative for Soares' medical expenses by Tuesday afternoon.
