A nurse from Oregon was killed by a man she met at a nightclub while on vacation in Europe, according to police.
A man in Portland, Oregon, killed Mackenzie Michalski, a nurse practitioner.
In Hungary, a nurse from Oregon was discovered deceased after vanishing from a nightclub during her vacation.
On November 8, the Budapest Police Headquarters declared that 31-year-old Mackenzie "Kenzie" Michalski vanished after leaving a nightclub while on vacation in Europe.
Authorities were informed by her friends after she missed her flight and left her belongings in her Airbnb.
Security footage helped authorities identify a male suspect who was last seen with Michalski.
According to a translated post by authorities, Michalaski was seen with a man in various clubs on the night she went missing.
An Irish citizen was detained by police on Nov. 7 in relation to the disappearance of an American tourist.
The suspect confessed to meeting the woman at a nightclub, dancing together, and then leaving for his apartment.
The pair had become intimate, but he ended her life in the process, according to police.
It was reported by authorities that the Irish suspect concealed Michalski's body in a wardrobe cabinet after cleaning his apartment and leaving to purchase a suitcase.
The suspect is accused of putting Michalski's body in a suitcase, renting a car, and driving it to Lake Balaton, which is about an hour and a half away from Budapest.
In the woods, Michalski's body was concealed by the individual who later drove back to Budapest and was subsequently apprehended outside his apartment.
The 37-year-old Irish citizen with the initials L.T. M. is being questioned by investigators from the Homicide Division as a suspect for murder. The full name of the suspect has not been disclosed by authorities.
He confessed to killing the woman, but claimed it was an accident, according to authorities.
