A Guatemalan migrant was arrested for allegedly molesting a five-year-old girl in her home in two separate incidents, which the suspect denies.
At the Palm Beach County jail, a 25-year-old man named Nicolas Jose Francisco is being held without bail on two counts of sexual battery of a child under 12.
For over a year, Francisco had been employed by the family of the young victim before he was accused of molesting the girl in the garage and bathroom of their home, according to WFLX.
On Dec. 13, the girl initially reported the alleged abuse to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and the Florida Department of Children and Families.
Investigators said that on both occasions, the child claimed that Francisco made her go into the garage or bathroom and touched her inappropriately.
According to WPEC, the child stated that in the first incident, Francisco touched her "flower," which is the child's term for her private area.
The girl claimed that Francisco exposed himself to her and touched her in the bathroom.
Francisco stated during his interview with deputies on Thursday that the accusations were untrue and the family was making them solely because he was an undocumented immigrant.
He claimed he accidentally touched the girl twice while in the garage and bathroom, but investigators stated that there was no bathroom in the garage.
Francisco later apologized and admitted his behavior and actions were wrong, according to deputies.
Francisco appeared before a judge on Friday morning.
