An adult charge has been filed against a Michigan teenager who is accused of shooting another teenager and killing his mother while she tried to shield him, officials stated.
A 15-year-old boy, Anthony Deshawn Sneed, has been charged with several crimes, including felony murder, second-degree murder, assault with intent to murder, armed robbery, and four counts of felony firearm possession, all stemming from a Sept. 4 shooting in Clinton Township.
According to Fox Detroit, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office stated that Sneed engaged in a confrontation with Tanseen Sherrod's son.
Sneed allegedly stole a handgun from another teen, and when Sherrod tried to intervene, she was fatally shot by Sneed, authorities said.
Details about the fatal altercation were not disclosed.
The other teenager was shot and sustained critical injuries. The extent of his injuries was not disclosed.
The next day, Sneed surrendered to Detroit authorities after leaving the scene.
