A Michigan deputy saves a driver suffering from a medical emergency by climbing into a moving truck.
A 63-year-old man's moving vehicle was stopped by a Michigan deputy.
A medical emergency occurred on a busy stretch of road, prompting Michigan officers to perform a life-saving feat.
On Sept. 12 at 2:18 p.m., the Macomb County Sheriff's Office released footage of a distressing incident.
Authorities were notified of a silver GMC Sierra driving erratically on a busy road, prompting deputies Nicole Miron and Anthony Gross to respond.
The 63-year-old male driver failed to stop and continued driving at approximately 5 mph as Miron and Gross attempted to pull him over near the GMC Sierra.
The body camera footage from Miron's perspective showed the pair of deputies pulling up alongside the driver. According to police, the driver "seemed to be in a daze and unable to understand the officers' requests."
He eventually pressed on the brakes, slowing the vehicle down further, according to authorities.
As the truck was moving, Miron heroically lifted herself through the driver's side window.
Fortunately, my small size allowed me to fit through the large front window without any of my weapons or equipment touching the person inside. My small stature and the fact that we were a two-man car helped me slide through easily.
The driver, who was experiencing a medical episode, was treated by the Clinton Township Fire Department, according to police.
""Deputy Miron's quick thinking and selfless actions saved a citizen in need and ensured the safety of other drivers on the roadway," Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham commended in a statement."
