A decomposed body was discovered on a cliff in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's homicide investigators are seeking answers.
According to a statement from the department, an adult body was seen by a hiker from a cliff above and the hiker immediately notified authorities.
The body was found several hundred yards down the cliff.
According to investigators, it is believed that the individual fell from Dina's Vistapoint, but it seems that they had been deceased at the location for an extended period, as a result of "severe decomposition."
According to the statement, the Los Angeles County Fire paramedics arrived at the scene and declared the person deceased.
Last week, the discovery of human legs on the shoreline was not connected to the incident, officials stated.
The homicide unit is investigating the case, although the department withheld the cause of death.
