A gardener in California discovered four Russian-style grenades hidden in bushes near Los Angeles.
The grenades were seized by LASD bomb techs and made safe.
An investigation has been launched after a gardener discovered four grenades in the bushes while working in Los Angeles on Thursday.
A gardener in Baldwin Park, California, discovered a bomb and called the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department's bomb squad to the scene on Merced Avenue.
The Baldwin Park Police Department stated to Planet Chronicle Digital that the grenades found were of Russian origin, but they did not provide further details.
Bomb techs secured the grenades and made them safe, allowing authorities to reopen the street and neighborhood.
Sgt. Jose Eguia of LASD stated that the grenades found were Russian-styled F-1 grenades, according to FOX 11.
Three out of the four devices tested by Eguia were deemed safe, while the remaining one was classified as an explosive device.
The FBI's Los Angeles office is collaborating with LASD and Baldwin Park police to investigate the source of the grenades.
Baldwin Park is about 20 miles east of Los Angeles.
