A former aide to the Democratic governor of New York was arrested in a federal case.
On Tuesday, a former aide to Gov. Kathy Hochul was arrested by New York police, following an FBI raid on the aide's Long Island residence several weeks prior.
Linda Sun, 40, and her husband, Chris Hu, 41, were arrested by authorities on Tuesday. The charges against them are still sealed and they will appear in court later that day. Huchul fired Sun last year after her office found evidence of misconduct.
Over a decade ago, this person was hired by the Executive Chamber. However, in March 2023, we terminated her employment after discovering evidence of misconduct. Immediately following the discovery, we reported her actions to law enforcement and have been assisting them throughout the process, as stated by Hochul's office.
In late July, the FBI conducted a raid on Sun's $3.5 million home, but no arrests were made.
The Brooklyn District Attorney's office declined to provide a comment to Planet Chronicle Digital.
Sun's LinkedIn profile reveals that she concentrated on business development, Asian American affairs, and diversity, equity, and inclusion while working under Hochul.
She departed from her executive chamber role after 15 months and secured a job with the New York State Department of Labor in 2022.
Last year, she exited public service after being dismissed due to "evidence of misconduct," according to a source who informed The Post. The source added that the alleged misconduct was reported to law enforcement.
The liquor store owned by Sun's husband in Queens had at least one bottle of wine priced at $700, according to the Post.
