A Florida woman is facing charges after an alleged murder during a Facebook livestream.
Lauren Martin, 34, was fatally shot in a livestream, and Savon Tyler, 35, was arrested for the crime.
On a social media livestream video, a woman from Florida was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly shooting another woman to death, as per police reports.
On Tuesday night at Greystone Townhomes, Tyler is alleged to have killed Lauren Martin, 34, following a heated argument that turned physical.
On Tuesday evening at approximately 7 p.m., Sanford police officers were called to Travertine Terrace where they discovered a woman, later identified as Martin, lying in the road with multiple gunshot wounds.
She was taken to a hospital where she died from her injuries.
An ongoing argument led Martin to drive to Tyler's home, as determined by the police.
A brief argument between two women in the middle of the street escalated into a fight, resulting in Martin being shot, according to the outlet's report.
Sanford police stated that investigators are aware that the incident was livestreamed on social media and they possess the livestream videos.
Police arrested Tyler without incident, stating that no one is at large in relation to this case.
Sanford Chief Cecil Smith stated that a family is grieving the loss of a loved one due to someone's decision to resolve a disagreement with violence. Although the cause of the argument is unknown, the tragic outcome will be remembered forever by Lauren's family and friends.
People were reminded by Smith that "there are alternatives to violence."
