A Florida man is being charged with breaking into a home and stabbing a woman while she was asleep inside.
Jose Sarmiento Lanza, 33, is accused of two counts of burglary with battery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
A woman in Florida is being charged after she is said to have broken into a man's home, stabbed him while he was sleeping, and tried to escape from law enforcement.
On Sunday, a man named Bonnier Jose Sarmiento Lanza, 33, broke into a woman's home on New York Drive in Tice, Florida, and stabbed her multiple times while she was sleeping, according to the Lee County Sheriff's Office.
Lanza also hit another person inside the home before fleeing the scene.
The sheriff's office's drone unit tried to find the suspect while deputies provided medical care to the woman with multiple wounds.
Deputies track down and detain Lanza as drone footage captures him walking through a neighborhood.
""Once again, technology and dedicated patrol deputies working together have resulted in the apprehension of a violent, fleeing suspect," Sheriff Carmine Marceno stated."
According to the sheriff's office, the woman is in a stable condition.
The sheriff's office said Lanza and the woman knew each other.
Lanza is accused of two counts of burglary with battery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
